Ralph Colman's Heritage
Ralph Colman has a long heritage in Taunton.
There's been a shop on the old Ralph Colman premises (79 Station Road) from at least 1900 where it was first called Male's Cycle Depot owned by William Male (AKA the "Taunton Scorcher").
Ralph A Colman (son of John H Colman - a cycle dealer from Bishops Lydeard since at least 1907) was born in Taunton in March 1910.
By the age of 15 (in 1925) Ralph Colman was winning cycle races, and again in 1927. His passion for cycling started early and his legacy lives on with our passion for all things cycling.
Anyone have any stories of Ralphies over the years?
